Bank unions defer proposed strike on January 7

Bank unions defer proposed strike on January 7 United Forum of Bank Unions has deferred the proposed strike of bank employees on Wednesday in view of the ongoing negotiations on wage revision.

Convener of the UFBU J.P. Sharma said in the negotiations with IBA on Tuesday the association had increased the offer from 11 per cent to 12.5 per cent and negotiations would continue on Wednesday.

In view of the positive response from IBA, the apex body of UFBU decided to defer the strike.
