Calling it ‘disgusting’ and ‘devastating’, Bollywood superstars Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan condemned the killing of innocent school children by Taliban militants in Peshawar, Pakistan.
The heavily-armed Taliban militants stormed an army school in Pakistan’s volatile northwestern city of Peshawar on Tuesday and killed over 140, mostly students when they started indiscriminate firing on them.
Bachchan, who normally writes lengthy pieces on his blog, was too grief-stricken to share anything and just posted, “When innocence is silenced… There can be just silence.”
An angry Shah Rukh termed the act disgusting and tweeted, “The soul is healed by being with children. Extreme anger and disgust for all those who took our children, our future, our healers away.”
Aamir also took to Twitter to express his views on the incident.
“Just heard about the innocent children being killed in Peshawar. I’m devastated,” Aamir posted.
Actor Manoj Bajpayee called the incident “a brutal murder.”
“My prayers and thoughts are with the parents who lost their children. It was a brutal murder. Even god must be crying at this sight,” he posted.
“Today the world is so sad. Those children deserved a long & happy life,” Anupam Kher tweeted.
