Appealing to the teaching community to cooperate with the Odisha government for enhancing quality benchmark of education, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today said all 10th class students will get free bi-cycle notwithstanding their economic status.
Patnaik made this announcement while felicitating 75 teachers on the occasion of ‘Teachers Day’.
“The state government has taken a number of steps for raising standard of education in Odisha. I hope the educational programmes would be successful with active support of teachers,” he said.
The Chief Minister called upon teachers to tap the hidden talent in each student.
He said the state government has made elaborate plans for the development of the educational infrastructure.
Observing that the state government has earmarked Rs 9,000 crore for education in the 2014-15 fiscal, Patnaik said the Vision-2022 is being chalked out for overall development of education in the state.
A core committee has been set up to look into different aspects, Patnaik said.
